Inital setup

The StormVue NGX installation program will install all web related content on your hard drive in a subfolder named webfiles\ which is found on the path C:\Program Files (x86)\Astrogenic\StormVueNGX (if default installation folder is chosen during installation. In this subfolder you will find another folder, StormVueNGX\, that contains the following files:

StormVueNG.html
StormVueNG.swf
symlib.swf
stormvue.xml
crossdomain.xml

To make StormVue NGX accessible on the Internet you must upload these files to your web server. This should not be done until after you have modified the stormvue.xml and crossdomain.xml configuration.

You must also create background maps and upload them to your web server. More details are available here.

Lastly it is recommended that you create a dedicated directory on the web server where data is uploaded to. Ideally you can keep all StormVue NGX related files in a single directory with separate subdirectories for data and maps. Your directory tree may then look something like this:

[StormVueNGX]
...StormVueNG.html
...StormVueNG.swf
...symlib.swf
...stormvue.xml

...[data]
......svngrtd.txt (file generated by NGX Data Server)
......svngarc.txt   (file generated by NGX Data Server)
......ngxdata.json (optional file generated by NGX Data Server)

...[maps]
......mps_100.png
......mps_200.png
......mps_300.png
......etc.
