StormVue™ is a web based NEXSTORM™ companion application written in Java™ (also known as a Java applet), created with the objective of optimized near real-time display of locally captured lightning data on the Internet or a LAN. StormVue™ gets its data from a compact binary datafile which is generated by NexStorm™ and can be uploaded to your personal website at set intervals. Once this file has been uploaded, it is automatically processed by StormVue™ and the information contained in the file is displayed in the applet's graphical user interface. By changing a few configuration parameters in your StormVue™ HTML file, you can define how the applet will behave when first loaded, or change the symbols that are used for visualizing strike data. The symbol legend shown in the user interface will automatically adapt to your configuration settings, allowing everyone watching your StormVue™ display to clearly understand what they are looking at. The applet reflects all of the critical information that is displayed in the main NexStorm™ user interface so no relevant information is hidden.
